V8 Simulator (Help)

I am running a simulator business where you get into a real car and look forward through the windscreen into a TV. I am thinking of running an Xbox One X, run project cars and fanatec equipment. My only problem is i cannot have a steering wheel with buttons on it as customers will then have control to go through menus. Can i run a generic steering wheel into the wheel base and control the menus via another controller which i can have on the exterior (to restart race etc) Any and all suggestions are appreciated and i can upload photos to show if need.

You can mount a real world rim with a Fanatec quick release attached to it. That way no buttons are connected to the wheel base and you could use a controller to navigate menus off to the side.

Not sure about an Xbox but on pc you can have multiple controllers attached and map the buttons accordingly!
