F1 2011 Tyre type @ India

Pirreli has just announced, which tires will be used in last 3 races of 2011 season. For Brazilian GP and Abu Dhabi GP Pirreli will take same compounds that we have in game. But in India there will be little adjustment - HARD compound will be OPTION, SOFT compound will be PRIME. I'm wondering: If CM will update this in patch? Would you like them to do so? What do you think?


Why Pirelli's choosen these compounds? That's simple, through race weekend we're taking 5 sets of Options, and 6 of Primes. They want to give more softer tires than 5, because teams are always giving back one set of hard tires.

I'd say they probably already programmed the game to run the medium/hard as prime and soft as option. That's what I think anyways!

Yes, they did, but like I said in real F1 Indian GP tires will be different... soft as primes and hard as options. I don't blame devs, they couldn't know which tires Pirelli wants to use. I want to say that would be nice if they make an update for that.

wait a minute so the hard compound will be the options and the soft compound is the prime?? Isnt it the harder tire the prime and the softer tire the options? Now im just confused

At the Indian race, which takes place later this month, the soft tyre will be used as the prime compound along with the hard tyre as the option. With initial impressions suggesting that the asphalt at the brand-new Buddh circuit is quite abrasive and with high ambient temperatures expected, Pirelli hope the choice will cater for every eventuality and strategy.

That's it. Harder tires was always primes, and softer was always options, but that isn't rule. They can assign every compound they want from all 4 types (Super-soft, Soft, Medium, Hard) as primes and options.

Well. this is a strange decision. It will get interesting though, because each driver has 6 sets of Primes but only 5 sets of Options for the weekend. So, less "tyre time", and this is the only track no one knows yet.
