I’m building a PC for mainly sim racing. Will also use it for FPS games and general use. The thing I can’t decide is the GPU and the monitors I will use.
I’m looking at either a 2070 Super or a 2080 Super (the 2080 stretches my budget just a bit). And then either three 24” 1080p 144hz ips monitors, or three 27” 1440p 144hz monitors.
I already have one 1440p monitor so the costs of getting two more of those is pretty much the same as buying three of the 1080 monitors I’m eyeballing. I’m concerned I won’t be able to run triple 1440at decent graphics settings and decent frames with either GPU. I’ll mainly be playing Assetto Corsa (not ACC), Project Cars, the Codies F1 games, and then FPS stuff but the FPS stuff will just be on the middle screen.
ideally I’d like to stick with 1440 as I can upgrade the GPU a few years down the line whenmore affordable cards might actually be able to push triple 1440, and for when I’m just using one screen. Ifeither card has a hard time running the triple 1440 set up my thought is I could just run the triples in 1080 instead to get better frames (if needed with “future” titles).
Should I just make life easier and swap to triple 1080 screens paired with either card or stick with the 1440 screens
