F1 2011 Speedometer not visible

I apologize if I've posted this in the wrong section, please move if it I have done so.

I race in cockpit mode and I have noticed I don't have a speedometer whereas my friend does. I can see my speedometer if I switch views or I look behind me but not when I'm in cockpit.

Is there any fix for this?

Speedometer is not visible in cockpit view because it's on the steering wheel in front of you. Modded cockpit views can enable the speedometer but personally I don't see the point.
