So when is Red Bull building that statue of Eric Boullier?

Four seasons later, 17 race wins with Honda (16 Red Bull, 1 Alpha Tauri) and a WDC. Meanwhile McLaren's best efforts with Renault were only good for 3rd in the WCC, and they couldn't get a race win until they went back to Mercedes, which is exactly where they were back in 2014. Think it's fair to say Red Bull won that trade, and McLaren blundered by giving them such a lifeline when they were previously stuck with Renault, and in the doghouse with them for badmouthing the PU so much.

Hence the question I ask in the thread title. Because the former McLaren boss deserves a statue built in his honour for helping Red Bull challenge truly challenge Mercedes for the first time in the hybrid era :D.

The reason Red Bull are so darn good is because the one thing that separates all teams is Airo if you do a bad job you are at the back of the grid. I have seen good teams struggle with this. Remember Williams and Nigel Mansell and Prost and Hill winning tittles it was thanks to Adrian Newley. Considered the best designer in F1. He left to McLaren in the late 90's to push Mika Hakkinen and Kimi Raikkonen to tittles then he went to Red Bull. Where he goes drivers championships follow. If Red Bull laid him off he can go to any of the 9 other team's. He is the mastermind of making a car to make a world champion. It may take time to work with rules and regulations and other politics but he will do it. As for the Honda power unit they do their own thing and out in Japan where no rival team could ever spy on them. The engine is exclusive to both Red Bull teams. And if you look at world affairs Japan is good at keeping secrets about defence plan to. No body messes with Japan.
