I've done some pit stop testing and found the following for the first pit slot at Monaco
:
Time lost due to "halting the car": 5,8 sec
Time to change tyres: 16,7 sec
Fuel: 0,65 sec + 0,22X (where X is amount in liter)
I assume a total consumption of 128 liters over 54 laps
A symetric 1 stop (adding 64 liters) will cost you:
5,8+16,7+0,65+(0,22x64) = 37,2 sec
A symetric 2 stop (adding 43 liters both times) will cost you:
5,8+16,7+0,65+(0,22x43) = 32,6 sec x 2 = 65,2 sec
A symetric 3 stop (adding 32 liters all 3 stops) will cost you:
5,8+16,7+0,65+(0,22x32) = 30,2 sec x 3 = 90,6 sec
If we call a 2 stop strategy the default strategy, but you go for a...
...1 stop strategy, you can be (65,2 sec - 37,2 sec) / 54 = 0,52 sec a lap slower and reach the same total time
...3 stop strategy, you must be (90,6 sec - 65,2 sec) / 54 = 0,47 sec a lap faster and reach the same total time
