screen HZ setting help

Hey gents,

so I am getting the new sim rig built and purchased three 1080 144hz monitor and running them off a 2080ti. I only have 2 display and 2 hdmi ports and one small video port (forget the name of it) when I was setting everything up I found that when I made the surround mode for the screens the best I could get was 1080 at 60hz. is this due to one monitor being on a HDMI and if so is their any way around this..

Start with 2 screens, with the DP connectors,this is to establish that you have done everything
correctly , then introduce a swap of a DP port for an Hdmi 1.4 port.
As far as i know Hdmi 1.4 is a max of 120hz. But this is probably a monitor limitation
in your case. But you never know , technology moves so rapidly now.
Make sure your Hdmi cable is 1.4.
I am sure someone who is better informed will chip in with a solution.

the back of the 2080ti has the following ports
display ports x2
HDMI ports x2
usb-c x1

I am using the two display ports to get the 144hz
can I use the usb-c port to a display port adapter for the monitor and get 144hz through the usb-c port?

It is possible to get a usb - c to dp cable, it shoud drive your monitor at 144hz , but if it will work
or not is beyond my knowledge and experience.
it is probably not a case of will it work or will it not, but can ou get it to work. I see no reason
why it won’t.
