Saving Fuel

I am racing an Aston DBR9S at the Nurburgring Endurance Layout. Apart from being backbreakingly hard, I put the fuel setting to X3 ( STUPID OF ME!!) and is wondering how to save fuel when you are racing for an hour and a half to test endurance racing.

How can I save fuel?
Any suggestions? Thanks guys

keep it easy on the throttle and hold the rpm low

It is indeed important to shift earlier then normal.

The easy way to save fuel is keep the revs to a minimum and short shift. Or just pit for more fuel

Go flat out, get a huge lead, come in for more fuel (rinse and repeat if needed), win the race.
