GT5 Reducing HUD details

Enjoying GT5 so far, day 2 and still on the license's.. one minor thing bugging me, how do i reduce the HUD info? it's a bit distracting sometimes with the map, split times, position etc to busy for my liking. Couldn't find anything in the book or button configuration setup.

I would be interested to know if there is an option to switch hud details off also, you can switch the map off in the options tab before you start a race. But with the rally stages you seem to be stuck with the map in the MIDDLE of the screen as I cant find any options to turn it off.

That's because there isn't anything to find. There are no HUD options, which is one of the various niggles I have with this game.
