I've only managed a 2.02 as best so far in the Audi, though I can't set up a car if my life depends on it so that doesn't help me.
I've done a 1:55.859 in 5 laps with the Audi. If you want I can send you my setup (which is basically almost a default Nordschleife setup with adjusted wings, gear ratio, steering lock, brake balance and pressure.
The gear ratio is set to sharp and very responsive, so you have a lot of torque because of the high rpm's, just be gentle with the throttle. When braking: apply a little throttle so that your wheels wouldn't lock.

And sign me up please. :D

Yeah please send me that setup :)
I'd love to spectate someone during some laps to learn a little if possible. Reason I skip is not cos I'm slow btw, it's cos I'm very very inconsistent still. I run off the track or spin on more laps than I do without, so I don't wanna be a accident waiting to happen and ruin someone else's evening in the process. :)

As I'm 5 seconds off pace when completely alone on the track I think I need a LOT more offline practice before I start racing with others, so I'll skip for now.
No! Join in, it's worth it for the experience. I've lost count of how many times I think I'm going to be uncompetitive and surprised by the result. People crash, run out of fuel (*ahem lol*)
Best way to get up to speed is jump in the deep end. Go into race monitor and watch what the fast guys are doing! Look for their gear changes and breaking points. Lots can be learnt from watching what real people are doing.

Don't worry too much about car set ups at 1st. What's good for one driver isn't good for another! Unlike games like forza and gt5, race 07 won't give you a huge advantage for tuning and rightly so! Messing with the set ups will gain you tenths not seconds so learn the car and track before you mess with settings. The 1st thing you'll want to tinker with will be gear ratios, get the gear length right for the circuit you're on.
Like all of SimBins games, the cars drive best when they are on the ragged edge so don't be scared to push hard! :)

.

Hey im doing 2:07's im new to racing online and im rubbish, im always at the back but you have to start somewhere, I just try and keep out of the way of everyone else and do my own race and aim to finish. So you got nothing to worry about.

Yeah, don't forget that you can't learn how to handle pressure in offline races. If you ram an AI controlled car, it's nothing. But when someone was practicing for maybe a few hours and you send him out of the track... not a good feeling. Then next time it can be you. People react differently. Even 6s gap feels differently in online race at first.

What I love here in RD, is that you always have someone on the track that is as good as you are. No matter how fast you are, or how slow you are, as long as you have someone to drive with, that's good to me.:) I also love how pretty much everyone here is very respectful towards the other drivers, and drives clean. The fun races are very good to learn a new track or car, and have a good time.

As for today's race, I think I will drop my beloved Aston Martin. :( The car seems to be suffering from major understeering, can't corner fast at all. I will change to another car, which one I don't know yet. Maybe the Audi R8...

Oh and of course that online races are much better than offline races. ;)
