It's not much fun sitting there for up to an hour or more though :/.

If your car is totaled yeh then leave but if you can struggle back to the pits then why not get the car fixed and see what happens. If i had 3 wheels Id get the car back and get back out there hopin for someone to mess up. Or seeing if you can make up for lost time.

Yep.. in a 2hours race people will make a lot of mistakes. Also pits strategy will be important (2? 3? 4 stops?).

Just dont give up after minor damage.

Talking of Pit Strategy, does it really make a difference if I go for a 3 stopper vrs a 1 stopper or 2 stopper?

I would think it might. If you stop 3 times that will cost you 3x30s=120s (making staff up), but you will be lighter and with fresh rubber which means faster and less prone to get off road. If you stop once you will have to carry a much heavier load (=slower lap times) and will eventually run on beat up tires (slower times). So there is some math that needs to be done to determine what works the best for u.
