Multi-registering button press SLI-Pro

I have an SLI-Pro steering wheel and a lot of times I'll get double taps or double clicks registering from only one key press, biggest offenders are my shift levers. There's nothing more annoying than skipping a gear Snd losing time having to drop back into it. Im fairly certain someone here had mentioned a fix but I couldn't seem to track it down, it had something to do with putting a delay in between active key presses that would ignore multiple strokes if they're too close together. Any ideas?
