Measuring Frames Per Second?

I'll be updating my CPU in the next few days and would like to compare FPS performance between before and after. I know that some sims include an FPS display, but AFAIK not all do.

So how do you guys measure FPS in your sims? Especially when running in VR?

FWIW - I'm talking about AC, ACC, AMS, PC2, RF2, Kartkraft, etc.

So how do you guys measure FPS in your sims? Especially when running in VR?.

When Im comparing FPS in different sims I use Fraps.
Because Fraps is able to write the AVG fps out for as example 1 lap in a sim.
The real time watching the running FPS number is worthless to any serious thing
