Help with Skies

I have quite a few different skies like Hudson's skies and 6e66o's skies. The problem I'm having is the skies disappear around 5 or 6 PM game time and a very low-res, ugly, plain sky shows up with big stars and hardly any clouds. It's like the game is replacing my chosen sky with another sky once it gets to around 5PM or 6PM.

I did a search in the rFactor folder for all DDS files and I can't find a plain, low-res file that matches the evening sky rfactor automatically uses so I don't even know where this sky file is coming from. Does anyone know? How do I replace or get rid of this sky?

How do the skies work in RF? Are there multiple skies that the game automatically switches to at certain times of the day? That's what seems like's happening...



P.S. The skies I downloaded are still pretty low resolution and not that great but they're definitely better than the default that comes with RF. Does anyone know of any good HD skies?
