DiRT 4 handbrake ?

There's little things more fun than trying a new game, but then there's nothing more annoying than some stupid problems that messes everything up

I'd like to start playing DIRT 4, but it seems the car is undrivable because the handbrake just wont release.

I can assign the handbrake, and that works all right, but it doesn't release ...

The driving is now like this; revving the car,"releasing" the handbrake, getting all the revs in first gear, shifting to second, revs drop to lowest, cars basicallly stops

How does this needs to be done ? I'm using a G27 steering wheel on the PC platform of this game
