Lewis Hamilton has spoken of the relief Mercedes felt after the punishment was meted out for taking part in a controversial tyre test.
Mercedes were
given a reprimand and banned from July’s young driver test at Silverstone after an FIA hearing into last month’s three-day test with Pirelli in Barcelona.
And Hamilton admitted the team were delighted their hard work on the track this season wasn’t going to be ruined.
‘I tried my best not to give it much thought. When I saw the team at the weekend it was a relief for everyone. Everyone was relieved they could get on and start focusing on the next race.’ Hamilton told

Mercedes now travel to the British Grand Prix at Silverstone this weekend looking for their second race victory of the season, as they aim to track down constructors’ title leaders Red Bull, who they trail by 67 points, with Ferrari in second place.
