2 great races, especially Anderstorp in my 911 was a blast! When in bed I still saw CSL's in front of me :D . Due to a sleepy head yesterday evening, I'll need to check AutoSimAnalyzer logs/replays before typing a race report. I know I finished 3rd in Austria and 5th or 6th in Anderstorp after having serious battles/chasing for 3rd position.
Great to see 10 drivers on this Class A-event.

Sounds like I missed a goodie :disapointed:

Wanted to run in this event, but got back from the funeral and wake about 9.00 - I also have to report that as it was an Irish wake I was fairly boozed :bulgy-eyes: so my participation probably wasn't going to meaningful anyway. :wink2:

My apologies for the no car select problem - no idea what happened there :dont-know: - thanks to Chris Aponte who reset the server.

If some of the people who drove in it could give me some feedback about relative car speeds etc so I can get more info to go towards the RDHGP 2009.2, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks in advance, and I'll deffo see you At Cadwell for the Cortinas on Saturday

Well, i have only tried 2 cars a bit more seriously now. The Escort was something between good or bad at Zeltweg i think. In some corners it was just awful where Knut's 906 drove like a dream..

Then the Pantera at anderstorp is probably the quickest car around a track in GTL? but its quite hard to master aswell :)

Yeah, the Factory Panteras are definitely out of the next league.

I'm more interested in how the "next" tier down behaved - 906, 911 & big Capri.

Depending on the feedback I get, I might have to change the potential field to keep it close.

I'll upload the replays for you Stuart. Takes some time to upload...

In the first race I really saw the power of the Vette's! But they had to brake early! They looked quite a handful and my 906 was a kitten compared.

911 and Escort looked quite equal. And I wasn't that much quicker than them in qualy. I suspect Douglas drove the crap out of the Escort though!

I think several of these cars will swap favourite-stamp in different tracks. Look forward for next league already!

Luc - you, and any of the other occasionals that we sometimes get due to schedules being freed up, are always welcome to drop in and race if you're available.

Please don't wait for a response from me in the thread, just jump in, say hello, and drive. :good:

Cheers Stuart, that's exactly what I did!:)
I had fun last night. I picked the Vette for the first race. My opinion is that it's very fast in a straight line and great fun to drift out of corners but has poor brakes and feels heavy. It would probably be very fast at Monza but not nimble enough for twisty tracks. A good laugh though.
Other than that, the race itself was fun even though I had several spins - definitely not an easy car to drive fast. Amir seemed to have the same problems, albeit to a lesser extent as he was a bit faster and passed me a couple of times. I chased him until his engine died. I finished 2nd or 3rd (mainly due to lots of DNFs), can't remember for sure and too lazy to watch the replay!

I had the Capri in the second race. It felt a lot more like a conventional race car, but I struggled to find the limits and when I did, I went off. It seems to be a very on/off car, if you see what I mean. I think with more training, it could be very fast though. It seemed a tad quicker than the CSLs.
I had a poor start there, had a few nice fights but went off track too often (was starting to feel tired too). I thought I would finish 3rd but went off again in the final lap and ended up in 5th place.

Thanks for organising and see you next time!

PS : Stuart, I have to say I really enjoy these GTL evenings. Thank you for the effort you put into keeping this game alive - it seems to be the most active game in RD right now, not bad for a 4 year-old sim!

Some pictures of Anderstorp:

The start (not everybody has their car under control :giggle: while I have a lousy start myself, ruining my 4th Qualify position)
