Grand Slam for Utzer
Perfect race today by Ben Utzer, starting from pole, leading every lap, taking the win and also the fastest lap. At the start the top 3 remained unchanged, while Hunsley could get past Kederer. That lastest only for a few laps though, as a mistake while trying to pass Lintner dropped him to 6th. First retirements then in lap 4 already, Said spun after a failed overtaking attempt on Saidy, and Foro crashed into him. A few moments later Black also retired, electric problems stopped his car only meters away from the pits. In lap 7 Poirier and Wolf retired, the former run wide at Acque Minerali, when trying to get back on track he crossed the path of Wolf. Diehl's engine failed in lap 11, meaning that there were only 16 cars left running. In the meantime Kederer had passed Lintner for 3rd, and Hunsley got past Engberink for 5th.
The 3 stoppers then came in around lap 16. Utzer's gap was big enough to keep the lead, while Kederer dropped to the end of the field due to a second unscheduled stop only one lap after his planned stop. After the 2 stoppers also had done their first stop, it was Utzer leading ahead of Lintner, Engberink, Rautavaara, Laad and the two Saubers. Apart from Utzer none of them had pitted yet though. At the halfway point they all came in for their one and only stop, as well as Utzer for his second. Around the same time Goddard retired with a gearbox failure. In lap 42 Engberink retired from 3rd with a broken suspension, as well as Ancevski with a blown engine.
Nothing else changed at the front in the remaining laps, Utzer cruised home to his second win this season, now having a 10 point lead over Poirier. Lintner in second and Laad in 3rd completed the podium. Expect for Utzer, everyone in the top 6 scored his first points this season.

FIA Press Conference
@Benutzername: Things are looking extremely good for you right now, with the supreme speed you currently have do you think there's anyone who can stop you?
@Márk Lintner @Jimlaad43: Both of you scored your first points of the season, what was different today compared to the previous races?

Utzer's pole strike ends
In an extremely close qualifying session Ferrari driver Kederer could secure his first pole this season, ahead of Said, Foro and Néron, who all were within one hundredth of a second. Utzer in fifth couldn't profit that much from his strong engine this time. Hunsley in 6th place, first time losing the team duel this year. Lintner, Saidy, Keranen and Herbert complete the top 10.
The race will all be about making it to the end, as Monaco isn't exactly known as a track which offers overtaking possibilities.
