F1 2011 Gearbox setup

Hey drivers
Gotta a gearbox question. As far as setup goes i know for more torque move sliders to the left ie quicker acceleration, and vice versa, move them to the right for less torque, more/higher speed or wet setup.
My question is:
I assumed that the nr on the slider represents the speed at which the gear would get changed (with auto) or rev would peak (with manual). This isn´t the case most of the times (just about every time) so.... What do they mean?

I think they are just there to give you a rough idea of how much speed you're going to get out of each gear. Things like wing angles, throttle map settings, wind speed and the drag of your car itself will influence how much speed your going to get out of each gear. Hope this helps!

usually it always changes gears with 15 KM/h less then what the sliders show
