I have downloaded the Royal Vee Mod, put it in the cars skin folder, but have been unable to add it to the car as an update. what am I doing wrong?

I followed what I could find on the net as instructions, downloaded mod, placed it in the folder skins for the vee. opened it by unzip looked on cars skins in content manager and only original skins there. never done this so all new to me.
