at the start of the season, AI are always in a different league until you get updates

Only done a few laps practice (R&D) so its a race into the unknown!

It’s an exciting moment as it’s the first time I start a 2nd season in the CM F1 series. After some testing I find the Sauber very much to my taste: maybe it’s my accumulated experience with setting up the car, and/or the driving, and/or the fact Sauber is now in tier 2, but I seem to be gaining pace in matters of seconds.

Well, as far as Melbourne is concerned, it’s only about 1 sec, but given I’m not too good on that track, I’ll take it anytime!

NOTE: I forgot to install the AI track file from kristiannn’s AI mod, so AI is probably slower than it should have been… sorry about that.

But let’s kick off, on to some Aussie racing!

Indeed, Free practice proved to be a bit disappointingly easy as I finished 1st all the way through, although only by hundreds in FP3. Best time was 1:24.9 on FP2.

I also very easily made it through Qualis 1 & 2… on Primes. Things got much more complicated in Quali 3. Despite my best time ever, 1:24.4, I could only make 2nd to Webber. Well, by a hair’s breadth, so things are looking good for race day, all in all!
