Does somebody knows how to activate the 30%,40%,75% race distance without patch 1.2?

You can't, it's been added in 1.2.

Yes, that.

Why aren't you installing the patch? It fixes some major issues.

Because after I install it when I go to a race and then going back to the menu my music shuts down and I have a very low FPS next time I go into a race.

That's not the patch's fault... Have you set your replay file to read-only?

Race distances are in the F1 2011 exe file. If you use the Patch 1.2 exe, you'll have them. However, your FPS will drop because CM want to screw us (people with low-end PCs..).

Hey, How to make the replay file read-only? Will it have any effect on the game performance wise?

Yes, it reduces stuttering a lot.

It's C:\ProgramData\Codemasters\FormulaOne2011\Replay\replay.pbf IIRC, right click on that and make it read-only.

What if I delete it and create a folder in my game folder named replay, then use mklink from windows comand prompt to create a symbolic link. Would that increase my FPS?

It's the setting it to read-only that reduces the stuttering, not the location.

I use a symbolic link for the replay folder.

I've never had stuttering that can be blamed on the writing of the replay file, perhaps I have just been lucky.

However, I have no use the replay file now, and haven't for a very long time, so as a precaution I made it 'read only' anyway.

If you are going to make it read only, you might as well delete it, then create an empty text file (replay.txt), save it, then rename it replay.pbf. No point in having a 2 GB file sitting there doing nothing

Alternatively you can just load the original file (all 2 GB) into a decent text editor (like Notepad ++), delete the contents, then save it out again as an empty file.
