hey guys,

maybe someone here at RD knows what the problem is.

I tried to install the online version of race 07 but it doesn't install (well):
the installed bytes stopped while the remaining installtime went over 15 hours:freaked-out:
the offline installation went without trouble
but after creating a steam-account for the online version
it went wrong

does anybody know what went wrong / what I did wrong

thnx in advance

Did you try downloadning the latest Steam version and login with your account to ensure the account is valid? (without installing the game)

What OS are you on? Is it 64-bit?

Also you could try the "Activate a Product on Steam" button in the bottom left hand corner. It's worked for me in the past, but admiitably not Race 07 and any other SimBin stuff on Steam.

I checked and my account appears to be valid.

OS? XP but 32 or 64 bit I don't know:struggle:
where can you see that?

For the rest, Philip, I tried your 'activate'-trick and it started downloading from 36% (as far as I managed to install it before)

It seems to be progressing now, slowly, but progressing...

one question: like I said above: he's downloading
why does he have to download it?
shouldn't he install it from the disk?
I hope I don't have to pay for the downloading thing?)

The DVD only has steam on it :) and you still need to download the entire content from Steam...

in steam click settings - downloads - then change the download location theres plenty to choose from and should help speed up your install :good:

If you don't know if your XP is 32 or 64 bit, I would expect it's 32-bit, as you'd know if you had installed 64-bit.

Hey Mark,
same damn thing here
I went on holiday (nice; I can save up same download
to use it to race online I THOUGHT)
My download is all used up now
and I haven't even got 75% of the game yet:weep:
I think it's gonna take a looooooong time before it's finally in.
SAY NO TO DOWNLOAD CAPS!!!:curse:

Anyway
Thanks alot guys cause without your help I still would be stuck,
download cap or not...

And now, I'm gonna have some offline practice
AGAIN...

You can terminate your download at any time and resume it when you like. You don't need to redownload the entire game again in the future once it has been installed once properly.

Tim, remember to make a backup of race once it is all DL. Steam has a nice backup tool to backup your games. Then you sorted.
