Can't go to full screen without crashing?

I'm interested in at least trying this damned game, but I'm starting to lose my mind trying to get it up and running. I'm playing this game on a new PC with Windows 10 and I'm running the game on a second monitor that has a 1680x1050 resolution. This setup works with every other game I have, including games as old as GTR2 and GPL alongside all the new titles. On the other hand, every damn time I start up R3E and try to change it from windowed to full screen or even windowed borderless, it just crashes, immediately, over and over again. I've searched up and down the web for a solution to this and yet, in three days of trying, I've found virtually nothing. Is this game just incapable of running on certain systems? What's going on?
