Can software damage a DD wheel?

Just got my first DD Wheel which is the Alpha Mini + GT4

Was playing Daytona USA 2 on the supermodel emulator to relax from ACC. I forgot to turn my wheel FFB down.

The game bugged out halfway and my wheel was shaking and jerking left and right by like 5 degrees from center for a bit until I could turn the game off.

Will this damage my wheel in any way? Am a bit worried to launch the game again.

Is there protection built in in the wheel to not produce effects above what the hardware is limited to?

Sorry if this is a dumb question. This is my first DD Wheel and I guess it's a big investment for me and I'm concerned.

DD wheels are extremely durable. The power supply would probably fail long before the motor gave out. I wouldn't lose any sleep over it.
