Best profile to build a aluminium cockpit

I need some help, which one is the best profile to build a cockpit? They are from Motedis.

My advice would be to look at what companies who sell the cockpits sell and use similar to them. They have done all the R & D to find the right equipment so go with what they have decided is best.

Hi, for your information, the aluminium profile industry standard (and SimRacing standard) is 8mm slot... but some/few cockpit builder (like JCL-Simracing) use a 10mm slot.

40 and 80mm.. maybe 120 but it’s pretty heavy duty!

I run dbox on a 40mm x 80mm 8020 and there is no flex at all

I also used the 40mm in size x40, x80 and x120mm depending on position. This profile you can also thread directly in the end, and have a good range of optional hardware to select from at motedis.

Edit, did not notice they was the same size, I-Type is what I and most others use.

Typically 8 slot profile is used by 8020 builders, and webshops that sell kits like SIM LAB. Though honestly, it wouldn't make a difference if you use 8 or 10 slot for the strength of the build.

Just don't use square. I used square stuff years ago for another project and dismissed aluminium extrusion completely because everything just came apart over time.

This is the best rig ive seen from anyone so far the heusinkveld simrig gt. Got one myself and doesnt have all the silly bits of bracing angles going all over the place Ive seen from most of the offerings on the market. solid enough for my 26nm DD wheel. No flex goin on with this baby!
