Baypark Raceway - Very Basic Track!

A very basic early version of an historic raceway that existed at Mt Manganui, New Zealand from 1967 to 1995. It's now disappeared beneath an housing estate. I used to visit the track as a 10 year old kid in the 1970's.

I had my first ever motorcycle race on this track back in the early 90s. Still remember the bumps and the kinda simple layout, though t1 had a dip I think. Look forward to trying it out.

i remember watching truck racing there, think it was one of the last events,, keep at it mate, its awesome to see nz tracks on assetto

LarryT updated Baypark Raceway with a new update entry:

Bayparkv0.1

Decided that I'd continue with the track project.

This update adds fencing, cars, people and a few other objects and improves the look of the trees.

Amazing, I grew up in Tauranga and used to go here and to the 1/4 mile dirt track when I was very young. It closed in 1995 when I would have been 8 years old so never got to see it in it's heyday, but still did get to see some great racing here, the Sports Sedan/Transam racing was always the highlight.

I was just reminiscing about the track with some friends the other weekend.

Even if this is an early work in progress I still am very keen to check it out!
