Are Race DNF's scripted?

I'm currently at the Austrian GP which is one of my favourites on the game but I DNF'd during the race, is there anywhere where I can make sure that this doesn't happen i.e. anything in ERP archiver, cheat engine etc.? As I've already started the session I can't go and turn off mechanical failures in the settings sadly, I have a bad feeling that these are hard-scripted when you boot the session up but hopefully someone can save me from DNF-ing!

You can't change it. Those values are not dynamic during the event, they get set beforehand. So no matter how often you try, it is what it is. Same for NPC drivers.
