Alpha Channel in photoshop

Hello, I am having trouble with windows in rfactor not being transparent.

Could somebody please show me by way of screenshots how to export the file I have to dds and it work?

I cant figure out how to do the alpha channel, despite trying to google it.

yes, but it still isn't quite there.

After enough fiddling with buttons i didnt know were there - i now have transparent windows with numbers still showing in the window - but no glassy texture - now its too transparent

Ok. Think I got my head around this now. Having compared the psd to the one I had, I figured out where my problem was. It seems easy Once you sus it out, but it's easy to get lost in that software!
