@Wolfy Yes I figured there'd be more to it if you wanted to make it perfect, and if I could upload the files I would have included all that stuff. But since it really became a step-by-step instruction on how to do it yourself, I decided to keep it as simple and basic as possible.
But feel free to modify/expand my file and upload a "pro version" yourself, or let me include it in mine.

I can not get it to work. The gears does not engage it only rools slowly. Any suggestions?

No, sorry that's not possible without a change of the 3D model I think. What I did change is the shift animation though, so the driver will not reach down to the stick shift but pull the non existent paddles on the steering wheel. The interiour remains unchainged.
