PC2 Able to Turn Off and Return?

I am running Project Cars 2 on the Xbox One and every time I leave, turning the Xbox off, and return, it says I am being returned to the main menu. If it doesn't say this, the race resumes, but the cars are all frozen and the game requires a restart. Is it possible to prevent this?
