WTCR 2021 Car Pack is Coming to RaceRoom

A car pack based on the 2021 WTCR season, including a new car and real-world liveries, is coming to RaceRoom soon.

Fans of wheel-to-wheel racing in tin top cars will be getting some new content soon for RaceRoom Racing Experience. A new season of the WTCR cars is coming to the sim.

Along with all of the 2021 liveries, a new car in the Hyundai Elantra N TCR will be added, plus updates to the Audi RS3 LMS TCR.

The TCR cars rank among the most exciting and well-loved cars in RaceRoom, and have developed a following thanks to the close racing action and unique handling characteristics of the cars. While most of the sim racing world revolves around rear wheel drive vehicles with huge horsepower values, WTCR instead favours front wheel drive layouts and relatively conservative power values.

Nothing has yet been confirmed as far as the date for release, but timelines between announcement and release are typically short in RaceRoom.

Will you drive the new WTCR pack? Have you driven previous editions of the WTCR cars in RaceRoom? Let us know on Twitter at @RaceDepartment or in the comments below.

That is just not true for the WTCR packs. Last year it cost 40% of the full retail price to buy the "new" Audi (just a re-skin of the old one) even if you owned the previous year's car. And even the new cars are not worth it since the differences in the physics between the cars is miniscule at best.
It's even worse this year, under a 41% discount it's still 1751 VRP for owners of the previous years packs.
I remember when WTCC discounts were actually decent, so you'd only pay for liveries for cars you already owned instead of having their base car priced at 50% discount for a single livery. Same issue goes for WTRC<->TC Cup content.

The Vesta on the pack (free under TC Cup), isn't even under the same 50% discount as the Leon/Civic/Lynk for 20' owners, contributing to pad up the pack price with the same full price as newer 21' cars. TBF, if only the (really "new") 21' Elantra and RS3 had full price, while discounting every other already owned car down to liveries cost, it would have been fairer and more aligned to other seasonal content.
AFAIK, for ADAC GT Masters season updates, and now DTM 21', previous owners of GT3 cars still enjoy livery-only prices, why treat WTCR differently? I mean, I have acess to the DTM 21' package for just 670 VRP while not owning the 488 and 720S, because the remaining cars are still discounted down to livery prices (the way WTCR isn't).

Would also like to mention some WTCR tracks that have been missing for years since this license introduction (Morocco, Vila Real, Wuhan), and now the 21' season will be missing 4 out of 8 tracks (Pau, Adria, Sochi, Estoril).

What's it got to do with the article?
Back on topic please gents.
Sorry for the OT, but it might have to do with having to close that message on every single page you open or refresh under RD (including this one) if you're already blocking other tracking stuff, as the removed samAdBlockDetected class will come again unless you resort to more creative methods. It's a fairly annoying way to pass a message that can steer users away instead of converting them (or worse, backfire by getting RD under anti-adblock filter lists, as workarounds will always exist).

I'll join you for the tracks. I would have loved Pau-arnos or Pau street but it must be said that Raceroom already has beautiful tracks that you don't see elsewhere, it's a strong point

Despite the fact that I really want to buy the DTM 2021 and the WTCR 2021 ,my Raceroom has elderly temper tantrums. It's really TOOOOO old.
- no longer want to run in 5.1 sound
- from one day to another crash at start up and fix itself after few days
- forces me to use eyefinity for triple screen which is breaking many workflow smoothness it's the only sim that is requiring eyefinity or surround.
- etc.

I finally had time to check these out. The Hyundai is nice, but that Audi is doing it for me.

Surround sound works fine here. You should make sure both your driver and your game are configured accordingly.
As for RRRE there is not much setting to do, my PC is configured for 5.1 and it works smoothly with the other sims like AC,RF2,AMS2,ACC,etc. Most of my issues with RRRE are proper to RRRE , I don't have those issues with the other sims. When I choose 5.1 in RRRE the game crash when loading races. I need to choose stereo in sound menu to avoid crashes. I spent 50% of my RRRE time tracking and trying to fix different bugs.
The config files seem to break easily. The sim randomly change all text inside of them in symbols so they will make crash the sim. May be the game code is not longer smart enough to preserve them in a constant evolving OS environment. Also the crash dump files cannot be open by players but has to be sent to the devs which is limiting the players ability to solve the issues themselves.
Adding a layer of frustration to the previous problems is the game loading. The game start loading time seem have tripled compared to the previous years. This sim seem to do everything that make players avoid it lol.

rFactor 2 didn't even have surround sound until this month. Which audio driver are you using? I remember that there always had been problems with Nahimic software.

Some config files are encrypted, so you aren't able to edit those in a text editor. If you want to reset those files, you can simply rename them.

Loading times haven't changed for me.
