Variety in content is one of RaceRoom's strong suits, and while the sim itself uses a free-to-play model, only select cars and tracks are available without payment - but now is your chance to try any piece of content you ever wanted to try: Everything in RaceRoom is free to access until June 25th!

Modern Formula cars, GT3 machinery, multiple DTM seasons including historical ones, Group C - RaceRoom has all of them and more to offer, having amassed a vehicle roster of over 230 car models. The latest addition is the BMW M4 GT3, which was released in May 2023.

The enormous amount of choice continues with the sim's selection of circuits: No less than 60 locations including over 151 layouts are available, some of them rarely appearing on other four-wheel based modern sims like the Norisring, Sachsenring or the Circuit de Charade.

The free access period should also mean that ranked competition grids should see higher population, as sim racers will not need to buy a car or track they do not yet own to participate. Currently, the RaceRoom Ranked Championship consists of the Mazda MX5 Cup, the KTM GTX Trophy and the GT3 Pro Series. All of them race at Autodrom Most, Road America, Brno at the Nürburgring-Nordschleife.

Your Thoughts

With the entirety of RaceRoom being free to access, what cars and circuits are you most looking forward to trying?

Always good to see. Raceroom has a great variety of content.

However what in the vanwall is that Mazda livery?

If only their track limits detection wasn't so utterly broken, this would be an amazing game. But whenever I launch it and get laps invalidated for driving on kerbs the way drivers do in real life (Nurburgring for example), or some other random BS, I just turn it off again. No amount of content can make this game enjoyable with such a problem. ACC does track limits so much better.

You're pretty much the only person on this planet complaining about the track limits being too strict. Everybody else complains about them not being strict enough...

I bought all the content a few months ago.
It includes the game itself, the cars and the circuits, all for a hundred euros, a bit more expensive than the abominable F1 2023.
The physics of the cars is good, the management of the FFB is also good, the game in Vr is excellent, the variety of circuits and vehicles is very important, the AI is doing well and good, I feel great pleasure to drive, even if it's less lively than some simulations like AMS2, Assetto Corsa, Iracing and of course ACC, nevertheless it's really worth testing since it's free for a while.

it's not enough to test??? You need it free for 2 months? Do you work a week without pay? Good day.

Sorry but I can't trust this team anymore. I was one of the early supporter even bought all their DTM early packs (13/14), but after the change of publisher/studio name, in 2015 I believe, they just lost all my account info and was never able to get back any of the content I paid for...

Those packs are Steam DLC. You should have access to them through your Steam account.

That's 8 years ago...
Have it since day 1 (even the beta before)
Never had any issue with their content.
If you bought stuff there is receipts.
Some back and forth email with their customer support should have fixed it.

For some reason I have abominable performance in VR, have no idea why.
A 6700xt should be more than enough to handle it, especially since it's not max out.

I wish it were. That was there last response I ever got from them after some exchanges :

"Due to the bankruptcy of SimBin we had to go through a long transition phase where we could not offer Customer service for a long time. Because of this and the recent moving of our offices, there is a huge delay in our responses and for that I apologize. If you have purchased DTM 13 and the seasons pass, DTM 13 and 14 are unlocked directly on your account and are as such not displayed in your Steam library. "

Login to my existing account in raceroom just show an empty garage (despite the stats saying otherwise) and nothing is available in steam either.

So I just gave up on and stop trusting any of their work rather than to go to further potential legal discussions.

I find this hard to believe, can you let me know what account that was? We don't "lose" account info, must have been a ban of sorts? In any case, I can help :)

No, he's not.

I just did 10 Laps on Spa got penalised on 9 of them for cutting/leaving track. And the idiotic thing is, I get the penalty that the time is invalid despite loosing over a second for a so-called cut.

Now, in what universe is it considered a cut when I loose time ???

I understand there has to be a system in place to regulate track limits but I do get penalties even with two wheels still on track, which is usually the benchmark for cutting and/or leaving the track.

RR is a good sim, the sound especially is among the best I've experienced. But this is really frustrating.

yeah... it's true. I can confirm it but also I can say that I haven't noticed much difference from old good GTR2... only difference that in GTR2 you can have all content (and even more) for free

In which mode? The game is invalidating laps on leaderboards whenever you leave the track, it's not about cutting. When you're losing time by leaving the track, the lap won't be good enough in the end anyway. In singleplayer races, you can disable the penalties if you want to.

In which corner did you get your lap invalidated although you still had two wheels on the track? This is not how the track limits in R3E work in general.

I did the competition 3GT @ Spa. Yes, I do realize the penalty doesn't matter if I've lost time anyway. But I'm getting more and more unsure about where I can place the car. While erring on the side of caution I'm much too carful and are loosing time each corner.

One place I got a penalty a lot was Eau Rogue. I touch the left side curb with the left wheel entering the corner, maybe put the whole wheel on the curb. I was never over the curb, yet I get the laptime cancelled.

I also tried an online event @ Paul Ricard. I get over ten incident notifications in one lap, which was mostly me braking late and not making the corner. I was the only one there so it didn't matter but I wonder how this influences the rating.

In the race I get a corner cutting penalty in the first corner which results in a drive through. That's race over right there in a 15 min contest (if there where opponents that is of course).

Now, I do concede that I need to adapt to the game and not the other way around. But it is frustrating.

I also did a single player contest without the penalties which was fun.

Had some fun in the LMP Cars, the mazda rt24-p and the ktm xbow gtx. Might buy when the summer sale comes. Thanks to Raceroom for this.
