This year’s official MotoGP game, once again by Milestone, will see a revised single-player career mode and a new online championship option.

Following last year’s release, which finally implemented dynamic weather and flag-to-flag races, this season’s MotoGP 24 game will add a further player-requested feature – a rider market within the career mode.

This is something that has not yet appeared within a contemporary MotoGP title, with licencing restrictions thought to have blocked such a feature.

But this time around – considering not one, but two official Formula 1 games are released each year with driver transfers – rights-holders Dorna Sports and developer Milestone are set to include it.

The official games, in recent years, have included all four main real-world categories (MotoGP, Moto2, Moto3 and MotoE) and with that set to continue, there should be a plethora of riders to select from for your own fictional team, or when riding for an authentic outfit.

On-Track Upgrades

Another new addition is stewarding. While players have always been able to receive track limit warnings and long lap penalties (since MotoGP 21), your AI-powered rivals have not.

This is set to change, at long last, in the latest instalment, with a system that includes cancelled qualifying times and redress position calls.

Tyre wear and bike electronics are also said to be revised, alongside further AI refinements that are claimed to better match real-world riding styles.

The riding physics and competitor performance are key areas for improvement – new features are welcome, but the riding experience must be the main priority when the series has, for some, stagnated in recent years.

Last year’s game witnessed the debut of an AI-powered assist system and ranked online multiplayer entitled ‘LiveGP’. Both return this year, the former now dubbed the ‘adaptive difficulty’ system, and the latter now augmented with an online championship mode.

Once again, local split-screen and cross-platform multiplayer (excluding PC and Switch) return, alongside all tracks featured in the 2024 schedule plus helmet, sticker, racing number and butt patch editors.

MotoGP 24 Game Release Date

The MotoGP 24 game will be released on 2nd May 2024 for Nintendo Switch, PC (Steam), PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.

I know my experience is with older stuff (Ride 3, MGP21), but have they actually sussed out bikes don't understeer like fricken barges?!! Bike are mega planted at the front. Ride 3 is appalling in this department and MGP21 the front feels like bubble gum.

Oddly enough I've just been out on my GSXR breaking in a set of tyres and I'd forgotten how well bikes handle as I've literally not ridden for 3 months. I was going way faster than I imagined when I actually looked at the speed and I was going through a set of bends that would tied my merc in knots and felt totally planted. In my experience bike understeer is mostly the rider bottling it or getting the line wrong.

Last time I did Cadwell I'd convinced myself I had under for the first couple of sessions but it was just me being crap and not committing properly and being relaxed enough.

Did not buy the last one:
1) Direction of the static (!) sun is wrong on many tracks, that's unacceptable. I drive Barcelona circuit in AMS2 - it's close to real - trees are much better as well, the sun in the morning session is where is should be (unlike in MotoGP).
2) There must be a feature to "monitor" the race if I retire, not generate fake "final" standings!
3) Riders picking the bikes, not respawning! They were close to it in 2021, but failed, changed their minds...
