Multiple classes including ladder series cars are one of iRacing's strong suits - soon, LMP3 can be added to the mix: The Ligier JS P320 has been unveiled - and with it, iRacing also announced the release date for the upcoming build for Season 3 of 2023 to be June 6th.

Sim racers who want to have a go at the small, but powerful prototype will not have to wait for long. The car will complement the LMP2 Dallara P217 and the BMW M Hybrid V8 LMdh cars, and this endurance lineup could be joined by the Cadillac V-Series.R that was likely the subject of a recent iRacing teaser.

The Ligier has originally been introduced to the world's racing tracks in 2019 as the successor to the JS P3. It features a 5.6 liter naturally-aspirated V8 engine that develops 455 horsepower - not bad considering the junior prototype only weighs 950 kilograms. It is currently running in the European and Asian Le Mans Series as well as the Le Mans Cup, Road to Le Mans, Prototype Cup Germany, the IMSA SportsCar Challenge, and other series.

In the IMSA SportsCar Championship, the car has taken the 2021 LMP3 title in the hands of Gar Robinson, and Colin Braun and Jon Bennett delivered a follow-up championship victory in 2022. From 2024 onwards, LMP3 class will race alongside GT4 cars exclusively in the SportsCar Challenge.

No official announcement as to what else the Season 3 build is going to bring to the table has been made yet. Content-wise, Motorland Aragón and Willow Springs have either been confirmed or teased so far in addition to the possible Caddilac teaser, but the rest remains exciting to see - could rain finally be implemented into the service? We will find out in less than two weeks.

Finally some foliage updates coming. Finally getting rid of the bizarre lowres cardboard trees, that sometime would fill a 3rd of the image with horrific textures.

Fully agree and the new shaders are welcome too. Now only the skybox remains, it will be updated together with the weather update. I will switch back to iracing once this is all done.
