After a four-round season in late 2022, the American sportscar sanctioning body are once again collaborating with VCO Esports, iRacing and Michelin for a second edition of the IMSA Esports Global Championship.

With the completion of the GTP class of cars from the real-world IMSA SportsCar Championship in iRacing, it only made sense that they would be adopted for the official IMSA Esports Global Championship.
In the first season that ran from October to November 2022, teams of two raced in GTD and Touring Car classes. Apex’s Kevin Ellis Jr and Alejandro Sánchez took GTD honours whilst the Touring Car title went the way of SimRC’s Corentin Guinez and Kieran Harrison.
But for 2023, it is out with the Touring Car class and in with GTP for the IMSA Esports Global Championship season!
As far as teams go, there are Team Redline, BS+COMPETITION, Williams Esports, Coanda Esports and reigning champions Apex Racing Team all competing.
Rd 1: Road Atlanta – 5 November
Rd 2: Watkins Glen – 12 November
Rd 3: Sebring – 3 December
Rd 4: Daytona Road Course – 16 December

What’s New?
Of course, that new big change means the top class will feature four new cars. Like in the real IMSA series, the BMW M Hybrid V8, Cadillac V-Series.R, Porsche 963 and Acura ARX-06 form the top class. GTD remains involved with the likes of the BMW M4 GT3, Mercedes-AMG GT3 2020, Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO, Porsche 911 GT3 R (992) and Ferrari 296 GT3.As far as teams go, there are Team Redline, BS+COMPETITION, Williams Esports, Coanda Esports and reigning champions Apex Racing Team all competing.
IMSA Esports Global Championship 2023 Schedule
As far as schedule goes, all rounds are 160 minutes in length. They are all being held on the four tracks that make up the Michelin Endurance Cup rounds in the IMSA SportsCar Championship.Rd 1: Road Atlanta – 5 November
