rF2 discounts are as always pretty good for new users, but e.g. for those who already have most of the content of a pack and want to fill missing part it’s not discounted. I wish you could buy packs at lowered price if you already have part of its content (like it’s done in Raceroom).

They seemed to design their store after R3E's so I bet in the future this is what will happen.

I would also recommend 'top up' packs: Give us a pack that just gives us everything and, unlike R3E, let us keep buying that pack to top up. People who top up are your best customers so treat them well.

Or give us season passes like AMS2. I'm still enjoying my full access season pass from 2020 to the end of 2022 lol. I bet this is in the works, too, just have to give the new store time. They have a gold mine right there, as R3E learned, they just have to add the features and then start dropping content.

Will definitely be picking up the AMS2 season pass this time around - the latest versions feel way better to drive IMHO and as I exclusively use VR, AMS2 has become my go to sim, although it has been great trying out all the lesser known tracks included in the base content it'll be nice to have all the top tracks too...

If you have to race on the cheap, I still think AMS1 Ultimate is a good deal. The FWD Copa Marca cars are still some of my favorites. There's also dirt cars. And don't forget the mods. My favorites are the Geoff Crammond GP1, GP2, GP3 mod and the EEC mods.

I'm betting they won't look back given how limiting the Steam Store is for them and they'll just keep enhancing the in-game store
Ah.
I hadn't actually checked it, I just guessed it would be a fancy UI based on the Steam Store. You saying it's not?

Well I wasn't going to buy anything but now I've bought Donington in-game and Brands Hatch on Steam just to see how the process works lol I do love both tracks, though.

It doesn't appear to just be a frontend to the old Steam Store. Everything happens in-game until you need to pay and then it opens a Steam browser-like dedicated window (feels like an overlay) just for payment details, you do that and then you return to the game where it asks you if you want to install now or later.

It looks to me like the main advantages are: The in-game store is up front and not hidden away in Steam, staying in the game rather than spending time on Steam, and discounts are automatically checked like R3E's store.

It's a good start, I think, and will probably bump sales in a sustainable way.

Just keep improving the store and adding more sales, S397, and you're on to something.

I went into the R3E store to "top up" my premium pack and buy everything i dont have.. but no such function, you have to manaully add it to the cart one by one, so I just played AMS2 instead. Imagine punters with money finding it too hard to spend it with you..

Yeah you can only buy premium pack once, also no option to buy track packs. Still if you buy during black friday sale every piece of content is 50% and 25% discount for packs.

Exactly. Outstanding vanilla content car physics thanks to Niels Heusinkveld. AI that's as good or better than today's popular titles. Loads of car and track mods. Looks good but can run on any PC with a dedicated GPU. If you don't have AMS1 in your sim racing library, you should.

Especially when it's on 50% sale, it really should have made it into the article, I think.

because you have all content from them, if they add anything new, you will be able to purchase them
No, I bought the premium pack a year and a half ago or so and already don’t own few tracks(since they were released later)
