F1 Manager 2022 | Be The Boss Trailer Released

More teasers and information about the upcoming F1 Manager 2022 game have been revealed by way of a video trailer titled "BE THE BOSS".

For those with a desire to call the shots behind the scenes of Formula 1 as team principal, the upcoming F1 Manager 2022 game appears to have you covered.

While a firm release date for the title has yet to be confirmed, more details were shared in the most recent trailer. "BE THE BOSS" was the title of the first behind-the-scenes look at F1 Manager 2022.

F1's Managing Director of Motorsports, Ross Brawn, was quoted in the video saying "I think for the fans playing this new game, it's going to be a fascinating insight to a different side of Formula 1. Because we all think of the drivers and I think the engineers have a reasonable profile, but I think through the game you're going to understand all the work that needs to be done to build the relationships between the drivers, the engineers and the factory so everyone knows what they're supposed to be doing to create the foundations and build the substance for a team to be successful".

While F1 Manager 2022 won't be the first title on the market to focus on contracts, finances, personnel and R&D instead of simply giving the player a chance to drive a car, having the official backing of Formula 1 will offer increased authenticity and immersion to the experience.

Players will be able to choose which team they lead as principal, then assume the role of leading the direction of the program. Meeting or exceeding the expectations of your respective board of directors is the central goal while playing, so overseeing spending and staffing throughout the current season and setting yourself up for success in subsequent seasons is key.

The trailer hints at the depth of the player experience in F1 Manager 2022, and certainly shows promise for a game that could scratch the itch of an F1 fan looking for a fun gaming experience outside of the racing action we'll see in F1 22 next month.

I'm looking forward to the release. Even though like others have said before the trailers don't really reveal much. I was a big fan of Grand Prix World and F1 Manager 2000, especially Grand Prix World I played a lot.

Alright, I'm already going to ding it for realism: you get to choose what team you work for? Lame. I want to start at HRT or Haas, or whatever and then try to get hired by Mercedes or McLaren. That would add another layer of challenge. Then maybe a new manufacturer joins and you can get plucked to head up a new team with mega resources. Avoid becoming Toyota!

But seriously, a 5 1/2 minute video? I think we know how Manager Sims work. TL:DW.

they are making really realistic circuits, which I think means we will be playing the same races for 10 seasons, plus I suspect the same is the case for teams, colours sponsors ect. I really hope modding support is included too, otherwise things will get very stale.

Till now some of the best ingame racing car game screens i have seen in a while and we can't drive them!

So the release date is today? or did they mean release date announcement :p

Pretty sure it's the announcement of the release date.

Which seems to be the 25th August 2022.

Similarly to MM, creating your own team could maybe come later as a DLC, who knows.

Meanwhile:

Maybe they'll have a "Scenario Mode" DLC where we can re-create the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. Then everyone at home with 5 or more brain cells can make sure that Lewis wins the world title in 2021... :)

That being said, this looks pretty slick, I'm interested. The race strategy piece looks like the best part. Do you get to do Drive to Survive interviews?

So you are agreeing that the team failed him by NOT calling him on the 2nd race interuption?(not the last one caused by Latifi's accident but the prior event.) the virtual safety car for Antonio Giovinazzi He could have still had enough left in those tires to defend. On equal tires he had pulled away from Max twice earlier in the race. So I'm sure you agree that with somewhat fresher tires, he would have enough left to either defend at T6 or repass at the end of the last DRS zone. I'm glad there are at least two of us with more than 5 brain cells left to rub together!

If this game has nothing to do with codemasters why are the menus and menu sounds all the same as their game?
That's because they use the same font as FOM's graphics. Game is running on UE and not on Codemasturbators' outdated EGO engine, so there really shouldn't be anything else in common.

I think they failed him multiple times. They should have learned from watching Max pit earlier that the pit out provided an advantage. So they screwed up not bringing him in on the first opportunity. But also during the Latifi accident. I'm not convinced he would have come out behind Max, but I'm pretty sure Max would have come in to cover him off. Lewis was PULLING AWAY from Max with equal tyres, with fresh tyres it would have been a massacre (like we saw on the last lap).

That being said, the call from race direction smelled to high heaven. Just end under caution. It would have sucked for Max to not have the chance to fight, but it is FAR from unfair.

I don't like to see Fifa-like numbers for driver evaluation, especially if the values are as rubbish as seen in the trailers (same number for Verstappen, Hamilton and LeClerc?. Stroll better then Vettel? :roflmao: )
They should have gone for the FM (Football manager) approach of only displaying numbers for certain skills without an overall assessment.
