Codemasters and EA released the first driver rating update for their current F1 game today. While Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton maintain their positions at the top of the leaderboard, George Russell’s performances have seen him take the third position from Charles Leclerc. There have been some notable rating changes across the bottom half of the grid as well.

Formula 1 experts David Croft, Alex Jacques, and Anthony Davidson help the studio with assigning the correct ratings.

Rating Changes In-Depth

Six drivers have seen their Overall Ratings increase, with Zhou Guanyu, George Russell and Mick Schumacher receiving the most significant ratings rise.

Despite several race retirements early on in the championship, Alfa Romeo’s Guanyu saw his Overall Rating increase by five, with improved stats in Experience, Racecraft and Pace.

Russell’s podium finishes in the last two races have taken his overall rating from 90 to 92, with substantial improvements in Racecraft and Pace.

Additionally, Schumacher’s performances for Haas at Silverstone and Austria have also increased his Overall Rating by two, with improved scores in Experience, Racecraft and Awareness. Max Verstappen, Carlos Sainz Jr. and Daniel Ricciardo have all seen improvements in their ratings.

Inconsistent performances from Monaco to Hungary have seen some drivers’ ratings take a tumble.

Valtteri Bottas, Charles Leclerc and Yuki Tsunoda have seen their Overall Rating reduced mainly due to Pace, while Pierre Gasly’s Awareness and Racecraft have also impacted his score. Esteban Ocon and Nicolas Latifi also lost a point in their Overall Rating.

The full rating changes can be seen here.

How Rating is Formed

  • Experience (EXP): The number of race starts a driver has over the course of their career
  • Racecraft (RAC): The driver’s ability to work their way through the pack and finish in a higher position than where they started
  • Awareness (AWA): The less time spent in the Steward’s room will help drivers here. Real-world punishments will impact the score in this category
  • Pace (PAC): Benefits those who get closest to the fastest qualifying and race lap times. A driver beating their teammate is also taken into consideration
  • Rating (RTG): The combination of the previous four ratings. This overall rating will go up and down throughout the season based on performance

why are people complaining about a "games" ratings? it's doesn't "mean" anything at all!!!
Maybe because the article said:

That's not really the best description of what racecraft is. Lots of times incredible drivers will go backwards during a race because they qualify their car higher than the car deserves. Alonso does this sometimes especially during his second time at Mclaren, the 2014 Ferrari, and some others. Does that mean he has terrible racecraft? Just the opposite, he has some of the best (if not the best) on the grid.

He certainly took Lando to tire management school last month....

You know what I mean, the fact that driver "A" has slightly better stats in a game than driver "B" means nothing in reality. Bottom line is this if the race results in game mirror to a decent degree of accuracy the real season then it's all good.....aaaaaand as I don't have the game I have no idea if that is true or not! LOL

Hehe, yeah. I'm not going to out them, and I'm not saying they read and post a lot on the forums, but yeah.
Oh that is cool as hell!
My guess is Max and Lando are probably on here, Maybe Leclerc, George and Sainz too,

Would be crazy if the defending WDC has downloaded some Assetto Corsa mods.
