Following its debut at the 2023 24 Hours of Le Mans in a dedicated gaming zone, Le Mans Ultimate will hit the road again.

Starting at this weekend’s 6 Hours of Imola, 19th-21st April 2024, visitors to the race can try the early access version of the title using Thrustmaster sim racing equipment.

As it happens, OverTake’s very own Yannik Haustein is visiting the Italian venue as part of a holiday, so he will be able to report back if there is anything new on display.

It will then be at the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps in May and, finally, the 24 Hours of Le Mans in June.

It is at the blue riband endurance classic that we expect news about Ultimate’s future – be that fresh content, features or the expected Le Mans Virtual Series return.

“The ACO and Le Mans have been supporting us with additional advertising at the track [during WEC rounds] and we have a great presence at [the] Le Mans [event],” said Stephen Hood, Motorsport Games and Studio 397 CEO, on a recent earnings call.

That event specifically is set to be the launch for an upcoming Le Mans Virtual Series revival too.

Situated in the fan zones for Imola and Spa, 10 simulators consisting of Playseat cockpits, Thrustmaster headsets and wheel bases will be running Le Mans Ultimate – with dedicated personnel on hand to offer tips and tricks.

It is claimed by the development team that visitor feedback will be gathered, to “help steer development whilst the game is in early access.”

“Since the game’s launch in February, we’ve been deeply humbled by the community’s response during its Early Access phase,” said Hood.

“These events are a wonderful touch point, allowing our team to see and interact with people playing our game. We’re eager to hear further feedback on what people would like to experience in the game going forward.”

what a joke, they don't have enough feedback via the discord and forum seriously....
This, but also: Usually when people test sims on these big events, you simply dont have the time and the focus that you would have in your own private home with your rig. So its such a weird idea to value feedback that is provided by people who might not even be simracing enthusiasts in the first place but just so happened to stumble into your presentation booth. And even the simracing people won't have enough time to sit and test things there with 100 people waiting behind them. Its just ridiculous

I don't think they are expecting "simracing people" to sit down and test.

Instead they'll be looking to attract people who know nothing about sim racing - and show LMU to those who ARE simracers but won't spend their money on the early access game.
The Dev Team will be getting feedback through the "normal" channels but, having been involved in software development process myself, there's nothing quite like seeing someone use your product and do something you hadn't expected.

And, of course, you'd be completely crazy to not put LMU in front of WEC and Le Mans spectators at every opportunity. They'll be looking to get people to try it out or just seeing it to generate some further interest.

Heh. First thing that came to my mind when I read the article. Was going to write just that. Glad it’s not only me ;)

The discord is just kids posting memes at each other and groupies talking to each other mostly about nonsense or complaining about sucky online drivers. Its quite bizarre.

The forum is borderline dead With posts on the front page from a week or two ago with no new comments.

And incidently, in discord, the mods are literally reminding people constantly that a 10 year old rf2 rebranded as LMU is in early access.

Nobody expects the Spanish (well, German, in this case) Inquisition! I'll take a look while I'm there and spoil the feedback with some sim-side influence :D
And while you are there, tell them to get the single player career mode sorted, many of us have not or will not buy this game until they add a single player career mode.

They have a whole "Feature Requests" and "Bug Reports" subforums with hundreds of reports and thousands of votes. Not like they need a constant stream of new posts to know what to do.

It's amazing how much hate people throw at an Early Access title like this and Rennsport...

It's not even been out a year... There's plenty of options out there that still have massive issues 4 years after release...

"It's not a new engine or dev team"

So what? It's still a massive project to get right for small teams like S397 is now... Other devs are throwing out DLC on stuff that's in a worse state offline and online than this... Patience is lost when it's not your favourite dev company very easily these days...

At least these devs don't act like children as often as others do... I've seen many frustrated comments being dealt with in a professional manner... And when someone is pointed and informative with their issues it's been fixed when it's been something easily fixed like camera FOV...

What I just will never fathom is "I will wait" ... till they add this or fix that attitude.
I did not say I did not respect it.
However you can't do these things without lots of green stuff + extra as it's MSG.
This is what EA is you need common belief, sometimes you rewarded other times not so much.
Keep the faith.

Personally I think it's well worth $48AU as is.
How much would the content be as rF2 DLC ?
More then that.
