Assetto Corsa Competizione’s Nordschleife Set For 1st April Release

The Season 2024 DLC pack for Assetto Corsa Competizione now has a release date, as revealed by parent company Digital Bros.

For years, fans of Assetto Corsa Competizione have been campaigning for the Nürburgring Nordschleife to be included in the official GT World Challenge simulation – and now it seems that the interminable wait will be over sooner rather than later.

News first broke in July 2023, when motorsport series organiser SRO agreed a deal with the 24 Hours of Nürburgring to include the venerated event within the 2024 Intercontinental GT Challenge.

That then opened the door for sim developer Kunos Simulazioni to add the ‘Green Hell’ to the platform – which was not possible previously with the content being intrinsically linked to SRO-backed championships. Development of the 24-hour layout was confirmed in November 2023.

Today, 13th Match 2024, a release date for the content has been announced – 1st April 2024.

We certainly hope this is not some kind of intricate April Fool’s joke, but the financial results covering the first half of the fiscal year 2023-2024 for parent company Digital Bros reveal all:

“The Group’s release schedule for the second half of this fiscal year includes; the launch of the Season 2024 pack for Assetto Corsa Competizione on April 1st, 2024. The official video game for the Fanatec GT World Challenge championship will feature the iconic Nürburgring Nordscheifle [sic] circuit for the first time.”

The report also noted strong revenue generated from the entire Assetto Corsa franchise, including game and DLC sales across PC and console:

“…Outstanding performance of the different versions of Assetto Corsa. The franchise developed by the fully owned studio Kunos Simulazioni generated Euro 12.2 million revenue in the reporting period.”

That leaves just over two weeks until PC players, at least, can experience the ‘full’ ‘Ring within Assetto Corsa Competizione. However, additional content, such as cars and liveries, included in the ‘Season 2024’ pack remains unconfirmed.

Update, 14th March 10 am UTC

The formal name of the DLC has now been confirmed, entitled ‘Nürburgring 24H Pack DLC’, in contrast to the ‘Season 2024 pack’ originally touted.

A PC-first release is now also locked in.

yeah no reason at all to race any other game, unless you want to drive something that isn't GT cars, or drive a track that isn't in ACC, or have any tastes in racing sims different than TeddyBearx which is incredibly easy to do because he comes in to be a troll on every single thread RaceDepartment opens
You know I had ACC. Had it for a week. For me and I mean it with all due respect it is mostly eyecandy with even disappointing, at least way to few content. AC however has so much to offer and if some things can be sorted out like rolling start for ex., better AI and some minor tweaks for me as a gaming veteran it is the best racing game I have ever played. Together with CM, the visual mods it is even amazing. What I am curious about is AC2 though - but we shall see what that has to offer.

Nice, just 2 and a half weeks and the wait is over. I think it will be great for the more serious endurance leagues and for some public "track day" servers to just drive around and have fun.

All this wait for a new track and it's just an alternate layout to something we already have, Nürburgring... I guess I'll buy it though.

Speaking of which, it would be a good time to enable alternate layouts in ACC, even if just for private practice.

I also still have hope that they will update a few tracks (Zandvoort, Barcelona, what else?) to their current shape. It's not like they have to go through the trouble just for ACC, since one would think those tracks will be included in AC2 and one would think it's still some time before AC2.

What CSP adds to physics, broken Gyro?
Extended Physics, like the IER P13C:
https://iersimulations.*******.com/l/ier-p13c

It adds a LOT of better physics to AC.
But yeah, only for very very few cars.

So I agree with what you post meant to say.

About the csp gyro:
Now with the Moza R12, when using more than 8 Nm max Torque, I don't like the CSP gyro either.
I get too heavy ffb jolts, like you described.
When turning the max torque down to about 6 Nm for drifting though, it's a lot better than without any gyro and better than the original gyro.
The wheel stays better in its correct position.
But the jolts with higher max torque are too brutal.

There is no doubt that it will be a fantastic version of the nordschleife.
And as passionate simracers we ALL need that.

The tracks of ACC are the best available on any simulation (my opinion). And i am convinced it will be the same in this case.

Sorry for the haters who could not enjoy it as it will deserve.

I also got confused. Are you a RL GT3 driver and physics programmer for 20 years? Or you just like some other sim title more but read ACC news to troll?
Teadybearx goes out of his way to ruin every thread about AMS2 with his inane rambling, some times you have to give a little back.

None of the current games are realistic although some round here would die on a hill arguing that they are.

For some they are for some they arent. They will never be like IRL so...

I wouldn't jump to any assumptions/conclusions about AC2 content at this stage. Who knows how licensing is structured (game specific, how SRO is tied to it, blanket use, etc.) and we know AC2 is using an in-house engine, so any tracks will likely require porting and some reworking/touchups I would assume.

Still sticking to my guns that we won't see AC2, even in EA form, until 2025 at the earliest. I hope I'm wrong.

For me personally i don't get the excitement with the Nordschleife as far as racing goes.
I feel it. I must come out here as a Nords-hater

Yes i know the meaning of it, the legend, the history, the beauty and so on but .....
Just from a sim-racing driver standpoint i absolutely hate this track.

No matter what i drive i try always to recreate real championships but always trying to drive a 15 minutes quali followed by a short 15-20min. race (Only chance to drive lot of series within many sims and to still have a normal life :D )

The first problem with Nords is - the whole event here lasts noticeably longer than on other tracks.
Second problem is - I NEVER really NEVER manage to beat the track without minimum leaving once the track, so my quali round is likely always invalid. :cautious:
So it´s like a sure thing i always have to start at the end of the field. Trying to get some places in the race i crash as good as always sooner or later....
I just can´t memorize the whole track. I always miss a turn earlier or later and thats it.
So after spending 1,5hours on the Nords i "leave" the event always dissapointed and think myself - ok that was wasted time again  i could have allot of fun on another 2 tracks in that time.

So comming to the topic: I do not care at all if a sim is featurering the Nordschleife or not.

PS: I really like the Sudschleife ;)

I am just thinking research like laser scans and photography. Unlikely that they would do that for ACC to update a few tracks but if it lines up with AC2, there's hope it would make those updates viable. I have hopes, wishes, that sort of stuff.

Buuuut, if I were to make predictions about AC2 content, Nordschleife will make it into the game (and possibly already done in a large part).

Learning the Ring is definitely an investment. It took me 5 league races with rF1 between 2008 and 2010, to finally come to a point where I could race it like any other track and not forgetting what corner was next. And you never stop unlocking secrets at each new visit.

Keep going! :)

Looking forward to it, hopefully the AI will manage to navigate the track without too big immersion breaking issues. Not expecting perfection, just a decent predictable experience.

THIS, THIS, THIS
...right here is what is wrong with simracing (GAMING, hell even the world) today.

One guy think his opinion is the only correct one, not understanding that someone else might be of a different believe and like something else. I have had several conversations with fanboys, i wont lie i am fan of rf2 because I (ME) feel the car best on that physic engine, thats just me - people who enjoy iRacing (which clearly is the biggest simracing title) is of another believe. That does not mean they think they are wrong...
Get over yourself and your own judgement to know what everyone else is suppose to think ;)
Imagine in this little niche called simracing there should be room for everyones opinions yeah? Stop this "my sim is better than your sim" game, it's getting old and quite frankly childish.

also

rF2 and LMU both use physics from an engine from 2013, which is a 2.0 of a version from 2005. Just saying
Physics has been presumably the same since the big bang
