Installation:

Notice: Physics are developed for the TT Real Mod 2005. Install that
first for best result. The Volvo 940 will work without it, but
might behave strange.

1. Place the file "car_xx.bzf" that came in this package into the
following folder on your computer: "...\Rally Trophy\Data\Cars"

2. Go directly to step 3 if you are using the TT Real Mod.
If you have chosen NOT to install the TT Real Mod the global torque
multiplier in your game will be set to 1.3 unless you have changed
it yourself. To restrict the car to realistic speeds with it set
to 1.3 you also need to install a little fix like this:
2.1 Rename "car_6.bzf" to "car_6_backup.bzf".
2.2 Rename "car_xx.bzf" to "car_6.bzf".
2.3 Download and install the LATEST VERSION of BZFManager available
here:
http://www.no-grip.net/filedisplay.php?filenr=119
http://www.no-grip.net
http://www.bhmotorsports.com/RT/downloads/735
2.4 Double-click on "volvo940_v11_fix.rtp" and it will auto-install
itself.
2.5 Rename "car_6.bzf" back to "car_xx.bzf".
2.6 Rename "car_6_backup.bzf" back to "car_6.bzf".

3. Choose one of the cars (1-22) that you want to replace and either
delete it or rename it to "car_xx_backup.bzf" or similar. I recomend
just renaming as that makes it easy to restore things to how they
where before.

4. Rename "car_xx.bzf" to the exact name of the file you just deleted
or renamed in step 3.

Example: I want to install the Volvo 940 instead of car 10.
I place the file "car_xx.bzf" into "...\Rally Trophy\Data\Cars".
Then I rename "car_10.bzf" to "car_10_backup.bzf".
And finally I rename "car_xx.bzf" to "car_10.bzf".

5. Optional step, but highly recomended! Changes the driver/co-driver
textures to mach the blue seatbelts in the car. Installing this
means affecting some other cars' crew textures as well, because
there are only two sets of them that all cars are sharing. Most cars
are using the 1st set, but this is overwriting the 2nd to affect as
few other cars as possible. The only thing that can be affected is
the textures of the crew so don't worry.
5.1 Download and install BZFManager as in step 2.3.
5.2 Double-click volvo940_v10_crew.rtp.

6. Optional step, but highly recomended! Puts high resolution textures
on the car. To keep the size of this package down I did not include
these textures here so you will have to download it separately. It
should be found where you downloaded this package. Follow the
installation instructions found in the hi-res package ReadMe.

7. Play the game!

History:

As soon as David started building his 940 I promised to model it for
Rally Trophy. But it took me a long time to get started, it was however
good in one way - I had time to get plenty of photos and data. I also
saw the car in real life. Eventually I got started and quickly made a
good looking model but then it stood still for a long time. I started
studying at University College so I was very busy with other things. I
worked a little on the car every once in a while and one day I had
finished all the details in the modeling and culd start making textures.
Same thing continued, I worked on it when I had time and will and things
slowly got toghether. By the midle of march 2005 the car was actually
finished with textures and was playable in the game, but the physics
where far from perfect. I was waiting for some engine data and several
times concidered releasing a v0.99 but didn't. Suddenly David sold the
car and started building on another project so I just took what I had
and put it toghether into this package and released it. The real 940
can still be seen on swedish rallys but not driven by David, at least
not when writing this.

Versions:

vAlpha (2005 02 21)
* 1st in-game test.
* 1st limited release for testing purposes.
* Nothing completely finished, everything in developement.

vBeta (2005 03 06)
* 2nd limited release for testing purposes.
* No crash model yet.
* Physics in development.

v1.0 - test (2005 03 12)
* 3rd limited release. For final testing and simply checking everything.
* Crash model finished.
* Sounds finished.
* Loads of small texture fixes
* Physics still in developement, but closer to being finished =)

v1.0 (2005 06 23)
* 1st official release.
* Everything finished.
* Known bug: The window nets can seem to go through the glass sometimes.
I think this has to to with the way Rally Trophy handles transparent
textures so I'm afraid I can not fix this. But as I see it, it's not a
big problem either.

v1.01 (2005 07 02)
* Fixed size of interior windows texture, from 515*515 to 512*512.
Strange that I had no problems at all running the game with this, but
anyway it's fixed now!

v1.1 (2005 11 11)
* New physics to be fully compatible with the TT Real Mod.
* Setup now allows changing the gearbox in a realistic way. I have used
settings that represents changing the final drive ratio, wich can be
done on the real car, maybe not on a mid-rally 20-minute service but
between one rally and a nother. (5.43 - 5.28 - 5.13 - 5.00 - 4.87)
* Changed size of the wheels, they where actually about 17" and not 15"
as they should. The width and diameter of the tires are also fine tuned.
* Many small texture updates.
