2 years ago Fernando Alonso did a test with his Renault R25 from the 2005 season in Abu Dhabi, but this one had something special, they had put a modern F1 tire compound on it.

so he wanted to recreate both the physics and the 3d model of these tires.

installation instructions:

To use this mod you need to have already downloaded the original mod on which it is based, which is the VRC Renault R25
You must have the Custom Shader Pack and the Tires FX extension installed.

1- Step one Unzip the R25_Slicks.rar file using winrar or some unzip program that can do it.

2- Step two drag the folder vrc_2005_renault_r25_Slicks_Tyres inside the assettocorsa/content/cars path, inside the cars folder drop the folder

3- Check in content manager that you have both the VRC R25 with the grooved tyres and the slicks version, if so the installation is complete.

To make it easier, drag the R25_Slicks.rar file into Content Manager and it will unzip and install them.

By the way all the credit of the 3d model and physics belong to
VRC. my contribution is the tyres section and 3ds medlo of them.

I have been trying out your mod since the update, and it is stellar! This is exactly what I've wanted since I saw Fernando drive this car at Abu Dhabi. Excellent work!
nice =)

I've been waiting a LONG time for this! I'm glad you took the time to do this.

I will say, one big thing I've noticed is the how much the front ride height changes with these tires. The default front ride height with the original tires is 27mm, and with the mod, it drops to 5mm. Is this because the Pirelli's have a smaller radius compared to the original Michelin's? It affects the aero and weight balance pretty dramatically, making the car very pointy and unstable, especially in high speed corners. The car also bottoms out very quickly, even on very short straights. I have tried to counteract this with setup changes, but the highest I can get the front is 10mm with the sliders maxed out. I also tried adjusting the bumpstops, but you can only set them to a minimum of 15mm for the 3rd spring. I think I can change the setup files so that I can raise the car higher, but I'm not sure if it's that simple...

It seems like you're still working on tire physics, as evidenced by the difference in ideal pressures for the mediums compared to the softs and hards, and the very high ideal temperature range for the mediums, but I think this is a great start, and I'm loving it. I've even applied the mod to VRC's other mid-2000's F1 cars, although I noticed doing that replaces the tires along with the wheels lol. It's still a lot of fun trying Pirelli's on these older cars. Anyway, I appreciate the work you're putting into this, and I'll follow along with any progress you make. Thank you!

Thank you very much for your review, I am currently working to improve this mod more. your comment really helps me a lot to know what is happening and motivate me to continue in this

and hope this won't be the only car from the 2000s with new tires maybe something from the 90s or a current f1 might come with something special...
Love the mod. Thank you. One thing I noticed was the LOD still shows the grooved tyres from a distance? Until the car gets closer and then the slick tyres pop in. I'm not sure if that's anything you can control. The car looks a tad high but it handles okay.

thanks, I know about the LODs and I'm working on those errors and improvements regarding the visual height of the car
Better now, you can see the tyres from the wheel. Maybe soft tyres gain temperature too quickly? Amazing mod. Thanks

I still work on improving the physics of soft and hard compounds. and thanks for your review
Better now and glad that you've got rid of dark on the inside of the wheel. Also, not sure that increasing the power was a right way to make it faster, but anyway its good. And is there a way to make it not that high cause even if you put it on the 0 there would be A LOT of height to the ground.

well, the truth is that the power was not increased, just increased the grip of the tires based on the ferrari f138, it seems that it has more power but is not.
The height thing is something visual, the physicists still know that the car goes lower anyway I will try to improve that aspect to make it more realistic
Excellent mod! Tyres are now fixed!
Awesome. I am waiting to see it with the problems solved en then, it will be 5 star
Love the mod. But yeah tyres need some fix. In the Ferrari F2004 mod whenever I use my own car preview or use CM Showroom, it shows proper slick. Hopefully you can get the slicks to appear in CM Showroom.

Actually, that is something that would be difficult to solve in the short term, since the original model is encrypted, so the tires could not be loaded in the previews. In any case, I will try to do what I can.
Tyres are just black on the inside
