NAMeS: Real Drivers for AMS2

NAMeS: Real Drivers for AMS2 v4.69f

Login or Register an account to download this content
NAMeS v2.0 includes several updated custom AI files to work with AMS2 V1.4:

1) GTOpen includes Ginetta G55 GT4 drivers.
2) Copa Classic B includes MINI Cooper S drivers.
3) CopaTruck includes Vulkan (aka, Volvo) drivers.
4) GT4 includes Mercedes-AMG GT4 drivers.
5) Copa Montana includes Nelson Piquet Jr. in #29 (aka, the previous "Piloto" skin)

Numerous Formula Vintage, Classic, Retro, USA, etc. lists are updated to match up with various Reiza livery name changes. These default NAMES lists are not needed by those users who have custom livery packs/AI files for these series.

All Stockcar Brasil, Opala, Montana, etc, series have NAMeS files included that simply tweak the real driver names already in AMS2 to include Portuguese diacritics (e.g., José & João instead of Jose & Joao). This way, with NAMeS, all driver names throughout AMS2 are spelled with their proper accents.

Enjoy!

RomeoFoxtrot was kind enough to proofread my complete set of livery names and found 5 small errors. NAMeS v1.9 updates the following 5 lists: P1, Group A, Group C, F-Retro Gen3, & Street.

On the other hand, that means the original list of liveries was 99.6% accurate!
v1.8 updates these four files in response to latest AMS2 V1.3.8.3: Carrera Cup, TSI, GT4, GT5.

The Puma drivers in updated GT5 file stretch back into the marque's racing history to fill out the field. Consider it a Goodwood-style reunion that celebrates Puma and its drivers, if you will. Of course, if I learn of more current Puma GT5 drivers, I can revise the grid in lieu of such information.

This update would not have been created as easily or as quickly without the ahead-of-the-curve support of Coanda at Reiza Studios. In short, Coanda provided the updated livery names to Reiza's Custom-AI forum thread prior to release. If you like NAMeS, it would mean much more to me if you simply thanked him instead of me.

Only one update: AMS2's grasp of German orthography took a small step backwards with Reiza's last update, as Weißbier/Petrocelli Racing has been rebranded as WeiBbier/Petrocelli Racing.

On one hand, if you utilize the M1 Procar mod available here at RD; please ignore this update.

On the other hand, if you're a default-livery loyalist, this update will blip Teo Fabi back into the sim for you.
NAMeS v1.73 includes the following updates:

1) F3: I happened to notice after spending some time yesterday in AMS2--instead of working on this mod--that Reiza includes a 2017 Formula 3 Brasil Championship. Naturally, I updated the F3 roster to simulate that field of drivers, with Class A appropriately driving the Dallara F309 and Academy drivers in the F301.

2) TSI Cup: Three Indian drivers in the TSI Cup file had the wrong nationality; that has been fixed.

3) F-Retro Gen3: All NAMeS now appear in timesheets, as Reiza patched the "2-space" problem in 4 livery names with their V1.3.8.2 hotfix. You may see a "F-Retro Gen3-1 space" file in your custom folder from a previous NAMeS version. You can delete that one.

That's it! NAMeS is done—for now—until AMS2 V1.4. Frankly, I’m surprised there are only around 700 AMS2 owners out there who aren’t willing to tolerate so many fictional drivers (even if one has every other mod installed from The No-NAMeS List), especially when the solution was so easy, albeit time consuming. One thing's for sure: AMS2 owners hardly have any business complaining about other aspects of AMS2's realism while ignoring the obvious enhancements that already exist.

Thanks for your interest in NAMeS—now go download the other mods on the No-NAMeS list and enjoy AMS2 to its fullest!

v1.7 updates 5 files only:

G40Cup
G55Supercup
TSICup
F-Trainer
F-Trainer Advanced.

On the Overview page, I completed the documention of sources for all series currently available in AMS2.

I apologize for any disruption or confusion from my recent, mutiple updates. Hopefully NAMeS, in whole or in part, helps to make AMS2 a more realistic motorsport simulation for you.

Updated P1, P2, P3, P4 lists to match as many names as possible, which turned out to be far more than anticipated.
v1.5 includes updated GTE & GT3 files. GTE file has 26/27 real names matched, GT3 has 40/40!

Therefore, the following series with Reiza custom AI (from V1.3.8.1) have matched NAMeS:
  • F-Vintage (both gens)
  • F-Retro (all gens)
  • F-Classic (all gens)
  • M1 Procar
  • Group C
  • Group A
  • GT1
  • GTE
  • GT3
  • DPi
The following series will not have matched AI per se, as NAMeS already includes almost every real driver who ever raced vehicles in the following:

P1, P2, P3, P4

Enjoy!

Whew!
Updated GTE, GT3, P1, P2, P3, F-3, & Carrera Cup files; matched SuperV8 drivers.

BTW, some of the p1/p2/gt3/gte lists are still messed up after Reiza V1.3.8.1. included new livery names. I'll see what I can do.
Group C file tweaked in response to Reiza changing two of the C9 livery names. Didn't notice until a quick race at Silverstone '91.
v1.21 adds F-Retro Gen 3 and F-Vintage Gen1 & Gen2 as well as an updated GT1 file. All 3 files are real-world translations of Reiza's new custom (but fictional) drivers. The Vintage-Gen2 grid is quite a menagerie of also-rans ... arguably, it may be best to ignore the F-Vintage cars until they get the updated tire treatment.
Added Group A & Group C NAMeS files that match and replace Reiza fictional names.

Note: The included F-Retro Gen3 file will need to be revised to include the updated livery names.
Oops ... the DPi file in NAMeS v1.1 was a pre-V1.3.8.1 version. Although the v1.1 file gets the job done, the DPi file included in v1.1b accurately replaces Reiza fictional drivers with their corresponding real ones so that their Reiza attributes match. Of course, both files include drivers for the 5 new skins.
NAMeS version 1.1 includes an--ongoing--array of changes made in response to AMS2 V1.3.8.1.

Deleted Brazilian Stock Cars* and Sprint NAMeS lists, as real driver names are now enabled in AMS2 by default.

* '79, '86, '99, 2019-2020 as of V1.3.8.1

Revised Caterham Academy NAMeS: Turns out the fictional names tagged to each of the default Academy skins were derived from real Caterham drivers; the updated NAMeS file now reflects their real-world equivalents.

Also included is the F3 list with Brazilian drivers.
Modified TC60S file to include NAMeS for 3 new Corvette C3 liveries in AMS2 V1.3.7.1.

On the other hand, now that the Formula-USA cars all have updated tires from Reiza, does it really matter?

NAMeS version 1.03 includes 2 additional Carrera Cup 3.8 entries found in AMS2 v. 1.3.7.0 RC
Sometimes, your first idea is the best one: Porsche Carrera Cup Germany drivers featured in 1.02 update, as they best match the default liveries.

Justice for Ronja Assmann!

Fix for NAMeS file for G55 Supercup due to livery name correction (I think due to AMS2 1.3.6.2 reverting back to original team names).
