Jaguar E Type Roadster
Jaguars have always been a favourite of mine, and Ive owned a few in the past; from a 1951 MKV to a 1961 MKII,
with a couple of others in between.
This has been a long process, but it is finally done. I started this project in September 2007 by cutting off the roof.
Along the way I've done a few mods, and in the process achieved enough skills (I think) to do this car justice.
The engine and gearbox are from my Jaguar 4.2 MKII, and changes to the Physics are minimal. The car is slightly lighter,
with a lower Centre of Gravity. A little bit more camber is enabled on the rear end and the car is lowered a touch.
Credits and thanks go out to:
InsaneDruid: for permission to use the Seats & Tonneau cover from his Austin Healey Roadster.
DucFreak: for the use of his Jag sounds which I modified for the Healey 100s.
YTANGUY: for the use of his Aero Screen from the Cobra on the #44 & #271 cars.
And of course 10Tacle & SimBin: for this great game.
Thanks to my Beta testers:
Dietmario & CX650.
Includes 5 wheel styles, including the Alloys by the brace from the 4.2 MKII.
6 Chassis styles (not including the cut down screen racers) in LHD & RHD.
(See the included Genstring txt).
The mod incudes 10 cars; five of which are real liveries
The real liveries are:
#5 Bob Jane: Famous Aussie Racer and Jaguar campaigner from the 60s
#7 Ron Rundell (Historic Racer used in Regularity events)
#41 Matthew Critchley (Historic Racer used in Regularity events)
#44 Bob Tullius (The real car is actually a V12 from the 70's)
#271 Wally Barnitz: A member of the SCCA in the 60's who started racing this Jag in street trim at Virginia International Raceway.
I hope you enjoy this car. It is very driftable in the right circumstances, but the back end will break away if youre not careful.
Extract to your main GTL folder.
If you want to do skins for the car, you can use the standard Lightweight E Type Template, and Ive included a .psd for the edge of the Tonneau cover. Use the window.dds provided.
