Since the Pession Garage RD-1 is a modern homage to the formula one cars of the 1960s, I've made this skin pack as an homage to those liveries.
I've focused on the years 1966-1968 - the beginning of the 3-litre formula up until the advent of aerodynamics and corporate sponsorship. Represented are all of the major teams that competed in the majority of races during those 3 seasons, plus a few privateers that I threw in to round out the group.
In those years, while the liveries for each were similar across the 3 years, it was common for paint jobs to change not only year-to-year, but sometimes even race-by-race during a single season. And cars were assigned different numbers for different races. So I chose one representative livery from each team. (With the exception of one privateer, who gets two different cars - which is what happens when you paint your car something other than red, green, or blue!)
As I said, this group of liveries is an homage - it is not meant to be a slavish recreation. I didn't want my Porknose to masquerade as a completely different car, driven by a driver who has long since stopped racing. These are modern, Pessio Garage, Racedepartment liveries that are inspired by the liveries of yesteryear.
I also wanted to avoid any kind of corporate logos, but I found they all needed a little something to make them "pop," so I've created some new decals in homage to the old racing stickers. (I wish I could claim credit for the "Schnell" logo, but it is something I found floating around the internet and it was too perfect not to use.)
Along with the stock RD-1 skin, this makes up an 18-car grid, which I find to be a good number. However, there are an additional twelve teams/drivers/liveries that I've done, and I may release a sort of expansion pack, if there is a demand.
To install, simply unzip to your Assettocorsa folder, or drag and drop into content manager.
I hope you like them!
