For me the RACEROOM deal is still a bit too expensive (Premium pack for 50 € / 7500 vrp).

Though It may be interesting for people who don't have any content at all or for those who want the complete series with all skins/tracks...

If you feel the least bit comfortable with a screwdriver and watch a few DIY YouTube videos to get comfortable with the process you can put one together yourself.
Check out PC Builder for configuring something in your budget. I put this together just as an example. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/sBH7f8
I really thought hard about that, but then hearken back to my IBM days, when I tried to do the same thing. The hardware itself is easy...that come natural to me...but things like overclocking, BIOS stamping, peripheral drivers, etc. always were the sticking point. Sounds like I may just have to force feed that stuff if I want a bargain. But...the one I listed is upgradeable and the video card (very average, due to low clock mainly) + the CPU = more than the list sale price.

I got R3E's starter pack and bought some cars and tracks after. The game is quite nice, but there aren't as many events as assetto corsa here in RD. If I had to choose I would go for AC instead of R3E

To be quite honest Rob, I know the feeling of dealing with Bios and crossing your fingers the system would boot to load the OS. Or spend an hour to get a printer to finally be recognized and operational. Those days are long gone, in my experience with my build, and overclocking can be as simple as click of a button. No need to feel intimidated...

All the packs are 25% off so you could go just pick what you want instead but premium is by far the best value and you get the most important thing every track!

Does anyone have any idea why the Red Pack in AC is the only DLC not on sale? it is the only one I want in this sale window, and yet it is staying stubbornly at full price.

because its black friday, not red friday :p

as for overclocking, building ur own pc etc, its not that bad nowadays, depending on shop u can order staff to set it up for you from parts of your choice, i found cpu oc templates in my bios, simply pick oc u want and thats it, everything ready. Same with drivers and basically everything, all streamlined, with its own slick soft and sexy ui- still having nightmare of updating my laptops ati drivers

Just to add to that, buying a 'premium' pre-made PC isn't always the solution.
I bought an Alienware with Titan X SLI which came with the SLI disabled!
I ended up going through everything myself, should have built it myself!

I honestly don't have much interest in the Premium Pack either, even though I wouldn't go as far as calling the deal "too expensive" (especially compared with some other options and their value to price ratio). I don't really see the point of owning every single car and every single livery in the game, even if it is at a very nice price compared to other options. I can always get another car or livery for peanuts anyway, if I ever really feel like it.

That RaceRoom deal must only be EU region, there is no additional $10 off here.
