See through trees and shiny tracks?

Discussion in 'rFactor 2' started by Finski, Nov 28, 2015.

  1. Hi all, I'm having an issue where some mod tracks have see through trees which is enough to make me not want to use them as its quite distracting. Also I noticed most if not all have shiny tracks as if they were wet? are there any fixes for these issues? Thanks for any help!

Which tracks? There's quite a few poor conversions floating around, most track mods on RD are pretty good.

Drop AA from 4 to 3 or 2 depending on your card

I did that after having issues with I think spa but still have this issue on a track I recently downloaded... Can't think which one it was now

Then you're stuck with it, as William said, some mods aren't up to standard
  6. Pop into your player.json file and search for
    "Transparency AA":true,
"Transparency AA#":"Soften edges around alpha test objects",

Change it to false and it should work ok on these tracks.

Be aware that this leads to bad looking objects that have see through parts (trees) on proper tracks, so I'd use it as a temporary workaround only.
  7. Drop AA and FXAA from Rfactor options, and use AA FXAA forced in nividia control panel, will get rid of see through trees.
  8. If you have transpartent trees on Poznan, Croft, Putnam park:

Just lower your AA level. The AA levels options you'll have depend on your graphics cards. Some have 4 levels some have 8 levels...

AA level 4: (level 3 for +900 cards)

AA level 8: (level 4 with +900 cards)
