The next scheduled release, RACE On will target all PC owners with a bit of petrol in their blood and comes with a very strong selection of new challenging content including the tracks and cars from WTCC season 2008 which turned out to be the best and most competitive championship ever. SimBin has recreated the epic 2008 season down to the smallest detail and now YOU get the chance to show the world who the real champion is. Jump in the car of your favorite racing driver and compete with the best through 12 unique tracks located around the globe including Okayama.

Race On also marks a new focus from SimBin with the inclusion of iconic Detroit Muscle cars suited for those who like to lay down lots of rubber power sliding out of corners on the rev limiter. Enough torque to drag the moon off orbit, full opposite lock and a big grin on your face.

To finish the new lineup SimBin brings you Formula Masters, a top of the line open wheel series, offering you even more speed and action than ever before. Extreme cornering speeds and simulated g-forces make this a true driver’s car.

But RACE On is not just new cars, it also features brand new American tracks in SimBin quality and it comes with a hefty update of existing tracks to 2008 standard. With RACE ON comes 5 brand new tracks all recreated down to minute detail.

As a bonus the game also includes the complete “STCC The Game” (The Swedish Touring Car Championship) which has previously only been released in retail stores in the Nordic territory and Russia. The tight and technical Scandinavian circuits and the wide variety of touring cars running in the series have already created a large following so SimBin is happy to be able to offer this package to the rest of the world including 7 Nordic tracks and 6 unique car models.

About RACE On
RACE On includes the following new content:

* 16 unique car models in 8 classes with over 140 variations.
* 12 tracks of which several never has been released by SimBin on PC.

RACE On will be available as a stand alone game including all RACE 07 content and an expansion pack for existing owners of RACE 07 will also be available.

All in all this makes up for:

* 39 unique car models in 17 classes with over 450 variations.
* 30 tracks and 17 alternate layouts, in total 47 tracks.

For current owners of GTR Evolution RACE On is designed to merge and fully integrate with the existing GTR Evolution. RACE On is scheduled for release in Q2 2009

Bring on them Lada's lmao.

You can get it as an expansion, just without the STCC. Also, just cause they didn't show the Lada doesn't mean it's not in there. Like the write-up says, the shots were released to show the Seat TDI, and that's pretty much all they do.

Where do you see that you can buy it with the STCC content stripped? It says on their site you get all the STCC content for free with it. In other words, don't pay anything to get the STCC content.

See that is where the confusion starts :) One can read the press-release in different ways:
1) Full game: RACE 07 + STCC + RACE On content
2) Expansion: RACE On content only, or;
3) Expansion: RACE On + STCC content

I disagree. The contents are clearly defined lower down in the latest art press release:

"

It says what constitutes 'race on', and it is all the STCC stuff (they are part of that count). There is no differing definition of what Race On contains anywhere. If STCC was in any way not included, it would be careful to always list it's contents seperately I think.

im not buying more cars that dont go round corners. that daft car they added in the STCC addon aint even usable or competitive round a real track (i.e. not oval). What about JGTC!!!! at least the cars would be comparable to whats in Race07/GTR at the moment, and they are buyable for the public too, R34 skylines etc.... much much better... and i much prefer city tracks too, where you get more damage if you make mistakes.

**cough** that daft car is in my opinion one of the most awesome and competitive cars ever released by SB :rotfl:
Haha, I agree. It's really so much fun. It can corner fine too. It's a low tech cars, and they are often fun. Note that it's been converted specifically to be used on smaller twistier tracks (the Camaro Cup in real life use the tracks from STCC). But it feels at home at any track I think. The sound effects are really good in it too, including the really rough gearchange on the four gears.

To the original poster - how is the car not competitive? It only competes against against itself.

But are they the promised top tier racing series? With all respect the muscle cars arent a series and IFM is great but i cant call that top tier racing (yet)
An interview/news email said "a couple of highly requested series". "Top tier" is your mind interpreting what you think about when you hear "highly requested" :p

  • Mikkow

Cant recall anybody requested it either :) I have seen a lot of requests in those guessing threads but only you mentioned it in your scientific prediction post Mikkow :thumb:
Yep, that's true. It doesn't seem highly requested, but then again, racedepartment.com's forums are not the whole world. Who knows, maybe IFM fans held organized mass emails "We demand IFM for Race 07!" directly to simbin :D

Personally though, I do like formula cars, but most are just too fast (the F3000 certainly is) for me and dad to compete with - IFM is on TV and slots in between F3000 and the FBMW. I also like road cars (muscle cars can be heaps of fun, just see that racy Camaro Cup version, woo), and the track updates should be most welcome (Authenticity I like). The new WTCC update can come in handy but is probably the thing I desire the least out of everything in the package.

To be honest i always silently hoped for the Intercontinental Rally Championship (click) because they are promoted by Eurosport the same way as WTCC.

Don't get me wrong, the IFM are awesome cars and a great serie and i am sure they will fit in nicely in between the FBMW and F3000 cars.

Only i am dissappointed like so many that there is so little new. We are now in 2009 and i cant see hardly any evolution since 2005, not to mention the fact that features that were in older games have been removed!
