Post Pictures Thread (part 4)

Nice pic of the audi in sakura valley, that track should be updated

Try this if you are up to it:
1. Edit tracked.ini (Add sakura to lasttrack=)
2. Start tracked and click create shader template
(and optimize dofs might be needed)
3. Exit tracked
4. Edit, adjust as rename to track.shd
5. Copy sky.dof and sky().tga
6. Edit geometry.ini & track.shd
7. Test
(Alt: if you keep the old skydome use ~vf_standard) ;)

Thanks luthobu im going to give it a try, this way is better than start working blindly
BIG BIG Thanks

@Pedro_Takumi: don''t give up too quick. It takes time to understand what
the shaders do and how to optimize them. The good thing with tracked is
that it maps the textures in a basic cg fashion (but not always), and gives
you a basic track.shd to play with. If textures are missing it is easy to debug
(just look at QLOG). Once you get the hang of it the job gets easier :)

You should also check the template against the no-cg shader in case it
ignores transparent and other usefull stuff (like emission and shininess),
and sometimes images are mapped to the sunmap (because of $tracksunmap),
these you have to fix. And.. uhm.. yeah, there are more shaders in the default
Racer track (carlswood). Just copy and paste them at the top of your shader.

If this is confusing, I am sorry.. have tried to keep it simple..

Thanks Luthobu, im still learning how it works, one of my problems with my crx was and is the shaders, with this track i get a glass like road, shines in a strange way.
Im still digesting what you taught me so im gonna keep trying because i really like this one (don't know why), but you people make racer worth to keep trying:thumbsup:

Here is a sample editing session so you can see how much there is to do.
The template is not complete, but it makes it easier to start. About the road,
the texture is wrong. Loose $tracksunmap and use only the basic texture for
now, later when you are better at this you can look at carlswood and see how
it is done there. As I said, you need to learn what the shaders do.

At least i now start to see whats wrong so i can put things together, im gonna put my reading up to date then. As you said, im better start with what shaders are and what do they do so i can start working step by step
BIG BIG THANKS Luthobu

im gonna save everything so i can start testing ;)
